Africa does not dabble in half-measures on the famous jumps. The map most travelers actually book is short: Bloukrans on the Garden Route, and the Victoria Falls Bridge over the Zambezi.
Secondary sites and pop-ups exist; treat them as unproven until you can read limits and recent operations yourself. Start with the two classics that publish like real businesses.
Bloukrans Bridge Bungy (South Africa)
Face Adrenalin runs a 216 m bungy from the Bloukrans Bridge (N2 / Tsitsikamma, Garden Route). Weight 35–150 kg, minimum age 14, open year-round except gale-force winds and thunderstorms. Arrive at least an hour early. Process: harness, jump, winch recovery, skywalk under the bridge for photos and exit.[1]
Pairing with Cape Town or Garden Route road days works if you do not drive yourself to the edge still half-asleep from a red-eye. Wind can cost you the slot—have a non-height day nearby.
Victoria Falls Bridge (Zimbabwe / Zambia)
Shearwater operates bungy, bridge swing, bridge slide, Big Air package, and bridge tours on the historic bridge above the Batoka Gorge. Passport required for bridge access. Spectators are part of the normal group pattern. The falls spray and gorge do more psychological work than a pure meter chart.[2]
Border timing, cash/card quirks, and heat matter more than people admit on the booking screen. Build buffer hours. If someone in your group only wants exposure without freefall, the slide/tour products are the honest alternatives.
Everything else
You will see lists of "emerging" African bridges and temporary cranes. Some are fine commercial ops. Some are not. I will not invent a third classic with a fake height. If a site is not on a current operator page with weight rules and weather policy, it is research homework—not a recommendation.
Use Bloukrans and Shearwater as the safety and communication standard when you evaluate smaller names.[1][2]
Bottom line: for most international travelers, African commercial bungee means Bloukrans 216 m or Victoria Falls Bridge with Shearwater. Book logistics as carefully as the jump. Confirm live ops before you route a multi-country trip around a single platform.
