Before you leave the car
- Ask what they want from you: quiet, jokes, or total silence
- Agree on phones - many jumpers do not want a live audience of cameras
- Know whether personal cameras are banned on the activity; official media may be the only footage[1]
- Bring layers; you will stand around longer than the freefall lasts
Where to stand and what to do
Stay in marked spectator zones. Do not lean into staff workspace. Do not shout instructions that conflict with the crew. Staff run the sequence; you are furniture with a face.
If they look at you from the edge, a thumbs-up or calm nod beats "JUST JUMP" yelled across a gorge.
If they freeze or walk off
Common. Not a personality review. Decent operators would rather unhook someone than force a bad jump; they also do not push people off as a rule.[1]
Your line is: "I'm proud you were honest." Not: "We paid for this." No-shows are often non-refundable - that is a money fact you both should have known at booking, not a weapon at the railing.[1]
After they land
Water, a snack, a jacket, fewer questions for five minutes. Let them talk first. Do not immediately upload their worst face mid-scream unless they asked for that energy.
If you are the jumper next, do not use their fear as your warmup roast. Take your own brief seriously.
Bottom line: marked zones, quiet support, phones negotiated, no punishment for walking off. Love looks like a calm face in the crowd.
