Jump, hike, paddle. That is a solid trip if you stop treating every day like a final. Below are templates, not rigid tours. Swap products for whatever your operator and weather allow.
Five days, one headline jump
Day 1: Arrive, groceries, short town or lakeside walk, early sleep.
Day 2: Bungy or canyon swing while you are still sharp. Protect the morning. Light afternoon only.
Day 3: Raft or river day if conditions and your insurance allow.
Day 4: Hike or gondola-assisted walk — scenery without a second freefall tax.
Day 5: Buffer or travel. Use it if Day 2 weather-slipped.
Queenstown makes this easy: Kawarau is a shorter product block; Nevis eats more of the day. Destination Queenstown lists hiking, lake time, and adventure side-by-side for a reason.[1][2][3]
Four days, Alps-style hub
Day 1: Train in, base near Interlaken transport.
Day 2: Signature freefall-style product (for many visitors, the Grindelwald canyon swing rather than a classic bridge bungy).
Day 3: Valley hike or lake day; keep knees honest after harness time.
Day 4: Optional rafting or canyoning only if the group still has gas — then home.
OUTDOOR and the official Interlaken tourism site treat the region as a shuttle-and-base model: town for beds and trains, valleys for the actual drop.[4][5]
What to cut if time is short
Cut the second paid thrill before you cut sleep. Cut the "sunrise hike after a late rafting beer" fantasy. Keep one weather spare half-day. If the jump is the point of the ticket, do not bury it on the last morning against a flight.
Victoria Falls-style trips can mix bridge activities with river days — still read weight, passport, and rain rules for the bridge before you lock rafting on the same morning.[6]
Pack and body notes
Closed shoes for jump day. River shoes or sandals that actually stay on for water. Blister kit. Normal food. No new "gut experiment" breakfast. Stretch calves and hips lightly after harness days if they feel tight — nothing heroic.
Bottom line: One solid jump early, one water day, one hike day, one buffer. Everything else is optional. Density looks good on Instagram; sequence feels better in your body.
