Urban bungy puts city under your feet. Natural-site bungy puts water, rock, or forest under your feet. Same basic job for the crew. Different trip, different fear flavor.
Neither setting is automatically safer. Process is safer.
Urban platforms
Think towers and city-edge decks. Macau Tower's AJ Hackett products are the headline example: commercial bungy from a building rim marketed around 233 m, with city infrastructure under the experience.[1][2]
Pros: short transfers, hotels downstairs, easier "fit it into a city stop" logistics, strong night-light views if they operate late. Cons: hard surfaces and traffic noise for the brain; less "wild place" payoff; queues can feel like an attraction park.
Natural landscape jumps
Bridges over rivers and gorges — Kawarau, Nevis, Victoria Falls Bridge, Bloukrans, Whistler's Cheakamus bridge — sell scale and setting as much as freefall.[3][4][5][6]
Pros: the place is part of the memory; photos tell a location story; multi-day nature trips wrap around the jump. Cons: longer transfers, weather more often in charge, more clothing and timing faff.
How fear tends to differ
City height can feel surreal — familiar streets from a wrong angle. Gorge height can feel elemental — rock walls and moving water. People disagree which is worse. If looking down destroys you, horizon focus and crew process matter more than the postcard.
How to choose
Choose urban if the city is already the trip and you want a high commercial product without a wilderness transfer. Choose natural if the landscape is why you traveled and you can give the jump a proper morning.
In both cases: published weight and medical rules, sober check-in, backup connections, and a crew that will stop the show. Setting is taste. Shortcuts are not.
Bottom line: Urban is logistics and skyline. Nature is place and transfer time. Pick the backdrop you care about, then pick the operator with the boring safety culture.
