Building a Travel Scrapbook Page After Your Jump

Lifestyle

Digital galleries are endless and oddly forgettable. A single scrapbook page - physical or carefully designed digital - forces selection. After a bungee jump, that constraint is a gift: you choose the frames, words, and objects that will still make sense when the adrenaline file has closed.[1][4]

Gather artifacts while they exist

Wristbands, receipts, boarding passes to the town, a stamped certificate, a café napkin with the post-jump order, a pressed leaf from the gorge path if collecting is allowed. Flat items store best. Avoid anything damp from river spray until fully dry.[3][2]

Pick five photos, not fifty

One context establishing shot, one edge shot, one midair or official package still, one recovery laugh, one detail (harness, shoes, hands). Too many freefall near-duplicates flatten the page. Print small proofs before committing to a layout if you are working on paper.[1]

Write three sentences max

Prompt ideas: Why I booked it. What I felt at “three.” What I noticed an hour later. High arousal improves some memory encoding but also scrambles sequence - writing the same day captures truth before myth edits it.[4]

Layout principles that age well

Leave negative space. Use a limited color palette pulled from the landscape - river blue, rock gray, morning gold. Date the page. Name the site without turning the title into clickbait. Acid-free sleeves and glue matter if you want the page to outlive a decade of moves.[3]

Digital scrapbooks count

A single designed page in a photo book tool can follow the same rules. Export a PDF for parents who still print. Resist animated overload; the jump was motion enough.

A scrapbook page is not proof for strangers. It is a letter to future you. Make it tactile, specific, and kind - the freefall was loud; the keepsake can be quiet and still win.[1][2]
