Retirement Adventure: First Bungee After a Desk Career

Community

Leaving a long desk career and booking a freefall is a clean plot. It is also a medical and logistics project. Treat it like one.

You do not owe anyone a viral "I finally lived" video. You owe yourself an honest body check and a real operator.

Medical first, ticket second

If you have heart disease history, stents, uncontrolled blood pressure, recent surgery, or balance issues, see a clinician before you pay. Operators list conditions that need disclosure; pregnancy is a hard no at serious sites.[1][2]

Weight bands are not suggestions. Check the product page for the site you want.[3]

Pick process over poetry

Choose a brand that publishes safety and FAQ detail, not only sunset photos. Read age/weight rules, spectator options, and cancel policy. Book when you are rested - not the morning after a long-haul flight into an adventure town.[1]

Insurance: confirm adventure sports cover if you are traveling for this.[4]

The week before

Walk more than you scroll. Sleep. Eat normal food. Decide with a clear head: after final checks and countdown, you jump on their call; until then you can still say no. One quiet friend beats a reunion tour of old colleagues yelling from the railing.

More: mental prep for a first jump.

After the desk, after the jump

Legs shake. You may cry or laugh too loud. Fine. Do not rewrite the day into "I wasn't scared." You were. You jumped or you walked off. Both are adult outcomes if consent was real.

Plan a soft afternoon. This is not the day to stack a skydive "while we're brave."

Bottom line: doctor if needed, real operator, rested booking, small audience, soft recovery. Retirement freefall is optional proof of life - not a performance review.
